US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists 6 new symptoms of coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic has been spreading like a wildfire. As the number of confirmed cases near the three million mark and a death toll of soaring past 200,000, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added more symptoms to the list.

Coronavirus previously had three symptoms – fever, cough, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. But the CDC has confirmed six new symptoms of coronavirus bringing the total number to nine. So if anybody is experiencing any such symptoms, they should get tested for the novel coronavirus.

These new symptoms are:

  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

According to John Hopkins University, the actual number of the coronavirus cases are believed to be much higher due to shortage in testing kits, unreported cases and government tally not being accurate.

The United States has been the worst-hit nation in terms of the pandemic with over 54,000 deaths and 936,293 confirmed infections. If we look at the continents, coronavirus has most impacted Europe with 122,171 deaths.

In Italy, Spain and France, the death toll rose to 26,384, 22,902, and 22,614 respectively. The United Kingdom has witnessed 20,319 COVID-19 deaths so far.
