7 Tata Cars To Launch In 2021 – Gravitas, Altroz Turbo, Hexa

Buoyed by excellent response for new range of cars including Harrier, Altroz and the Nexon, the homegrown automaker is now planning to launch a wide range of new cars in the country in the next 1 year. In this article, we bring you a list of 7 brand new Tata cars to be launched in the country.

TATA GRAVITAS

Tata Gravitas Automatic

The homegrown automaker, Tata Motors will introduce the new Gravitas 6/7-seater SUV in the country in the first quarter of 2021. The new model is basically the 6/7-seater version of the Harrier SUV. It is 63mm longer and 80mm taller than the Harrier, which helps the brand to add third-row of seats.

The new Gravitas will be powered by the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine that powers the Harrier. This engine is capable of producing 168bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. It is likely to be priced around Rs 15 lakh – Rs 22 lakh.

TATA HBX

Tata HBX Micro SUV

The company will introduce the production version of the HBX micro SUV in the second quarter of 2021. Codenamed Hornbill, the new SUV will be the brand’s second model to be based on the ALFA modular platform. The new model will be positioned against the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Mahindra KUV100 NXT. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT gearbox options will be on offer. It is expected to be priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 6 lakh.

BS6 TATA HEXA

Tata Hexa Safari Edition Price

Tata Motors had showcased the new Hexa Safari Edition at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company has started testing the BSVI compliant Hexa, which suggests that the 7-seater SUV could be re-launched in our market. The new model will receive cosmetic design changes and upgraded interior. It is likely to be powered by a BSVI compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine. In the BS4 form, this engine offers two states of tunes – 148bhp/320Nm and 154bhp/400Nm.

TATA ALTROZ TURBO

Tata Altroz Turbo Specs

In order to compete with new Hyundai i20 turbo, Tata Motors is planning to add a new turbocharged engine to the Altroz line-up. The new turbocharged version of the Altroz will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which will produce 110bhp of power and 140Nm of torque.

TATA ALTROZ DCT

The Tata Altroz is currently available in a single 6-speed manual gearbox option. However, Tata is working on a new dual-clutch automatic transmission option for the Nexon and the Altroz. It is expected that the DCT will be offered with the upcoming Altroz Turbo. 

TATA ALTROZ EV

Tata Altroz EV Specs

The homegrown automaker will introduce the electric version of the Altroz hatchback in the second half of 2021. The new model was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. Powering the Altroz EV is likely to be the same electric powertrain that does duty in the Nexon EV. Though, its battery capacity and power figures might be different. The Nexon EV uses an IP67 certified 30.2kWh battery pack with a permanent magnet AC motor.

The Tata Altroz EV’s battery pack is likely to deliver a range between 250km – 300km. Its battery might take 60 minutes to get charged up to 80% with DC fast charging and 8 hours to get fully charged with a regular power socket.

TATA HARRIER PETROL

Tata Harrier XT+ Sunroof

Tata Motors has confirmed that it will introduce the petrol version of the Harrier SUV. In fact, the Harrier petrol has already been caught testing in India. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is expected to produce over 150bhp of power. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be on offer.
