Amazon inks deal with Airtel to launch world’s first mobile-only prime video plan at Rs 89

Airtel customers can continue to enjoy Prime Video Mobile Edition through pre-paid recharges starting at an introductory offer of Rs 89, to get 28-days of Prime Video Mobile Edition along with 6GB data or choose a Rs 299 pack of 28-day validity that includes Prime Video Mobile Edition along with unlimited calls, data access of 1.5 GB per day.

NEW DELHI: Amazon has introduced Prime Video Mobile Edition – a mobile-only plan at an amazing introductory price of Rs 89 in partnership with Airtel.

India becomes the first Amazon Prime country in the world to offer customers a mobile-only Prime Video plan, the company said.

Airtel customers can get Prime Video Mobile Edition through pre-paid recharges starting at an introductory offer of Rs 89, to get 28-days of Prime Video Mobile Edition along with 6GB data or choose a Rs 299 pack of 28-day validity that includes Prime Video Mobile Edition along with unlimited calls, data access of 1.5 GB per day.

Other prepaid recharge that now offers Prime Video Mobile Edition subscription includes Rs 131 plan that offers Amazon Prime membership for 30 days along with full Prime Video access, free delivery, unlimited ad-free music, and other Prime benefits.

The Rs 349 prepaid recharge plan has also been upgraded and now offers Amazon Prime membership access with full Prime Video benefits, fast-delivery, unlimited ad-free music, 2GB daily high-speed data, and unlimited calling.

Prime Video Mobile Edition is a single-user mobile-only plan, providing SD quality streaming.

Amazon Prime video’s rival Netflix had previously launched the cheaper mobile-only monthly plan in India and priced it at just Rs 199.

The recharges will be available on the Airtel Thanks app or at recharge points across the country.
