Hackers use ICICI bank customer’s credit card to buy air tickets

Unidentified cyber fraudsters allegedly hacked into the credit card details of an ICICI bank customer and used it for buying air tickets worth Rs 29,784.

As per a press release issued today by the Pimpri Chinchwad police, unidentified fraudsters used computer systems to hack the confidential information of a credit card belonging to an ICICI bank customer Anil Ghadge in December 2020.

The fraudster then allegedly used this credit card information for buying air tickets. According to ICICI, fraudsters purchased air tickets worth Rs 29,784.

Police have booked the unidentified fraudsters under sections 420 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Information Technology Act.

Police inspector Ajay Jogdand of Hinjewadi police station is investigating the case.
