Board Exams 2021: Assam students urge govt to postpone Matric, HSC exams

Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, students in Assam are urging the state government to cancel the matric exams and postpone the HSC exams.

The students of Assam, who are set to appear for the board exams this year, have been flooding the government with requests to postpone or cancel the exams in view of the sudden spike of Covid-19 cases across the state.

Students have been urging the Assam government to follow the footsteps of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and postpone the Class 12 (HSC) exams while cancelling the Class 10 (Matric) exams for this academic session.

Assam School Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been asked to take a call regarding the cancellation and postponement of the Assam board exams this year, but no official announcement in this regard has been made by the government yet.

CBSE recently took the call to postpone the Class 12 board exams and cancel the Class 10 board exams, which urged a lot of state governments to do the same for the students under their jurisdiction. The Assam government has not taken any such decision yet.

Postpone Assam board exams 2021: Students

Students in Assam have flooded social media with requests to postpone the HSC exams and cancel the Matric exams this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, citing health reasons. Students are also using #cancelassamboardexams2021 in their tweets.

The government of Assam will announce the decision regarding the conduction of the HSC and Matric exams soon. Students should keep a check on the official website and social media handles of the Assam board and the state education minister.
