Breaking News LIVE Updates July 15, 2021:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi on Thursday, July 15, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 1,500 crore. Ahead of his visit to Varanasi, PM Modi on Wednesday shared details of many projects he will inaugurate there and asserted that his government’s vision is to build quality infrastructure in the holy city for the coming generations. He said these projects will further boost “ease of living” for the people of Kashi, the ancient name of Varanasi, and Poorvanchal. The Prime Minister will inaugurate various public projects and works, including a 100-bed MCH wing in Banaras Hindu University (BHU), multi-level parking at Godauliya, Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development on the Ganga river, and a three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway

Meanwhile, the Left parties in Odisha have called for a six-hour bandh in the state on July 15, protesting against the steep fuel price hike. Leaders of CPI, CPI(M), Forward Block and CPI(ML- Liberation) announced that the bandh would begin at 6 am and continue till 12 pm. The Left leaders demanded immediate withdrawal of taxes imposed on fuel by the Centre and the state government to bring down prices to provide relief to the common people.

BMC to Vaccinate Pregnant Women from Today at 35 Centres Across Mumbai: Pregnant women will be administered COVID-19 vaccines at 35 inoculation centres in Mumbai from July 15. A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) spokesperson said pregnant women will be given priority while administering jabs at these 35 designated vaccination centres. According to the BMC’s health department, expectant mothers are more likely to catch a severe infection of COVID-19 than other women. Also, pregnant women infected with COVID-19 have a higher rate of premature delivery.

The accused said that the documents were given to him by Paramjit Kaur, an Army personnel deployed in Agra. Rahman was supposed to hand over documents to one Kamal. Questioning underway said the Delhi Police Crime Branch.
  • Covid report: Assam on Wednesday reported 22 more COVID-19 deaths, raising the caseload to 5,40,453, according to a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission, Assam. As many as 2,046 more people tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll increased to 4,910 while the number of active cases currently in the state is 19,653.
  • Delhi Metro drops plan to build a depot in Ridge area: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to drop its plan to build a depot in the Ridge area for the proposed Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor under its phase four project out of ecological considerations, a senior official said on Wednesday. Instead, the DMRC will go for “augmenting capacities” in its existing two depots for this upcoming route. Earlier in the day, the Ridge Management Board (RMB) approved the alignment of the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor going through the ridge area of Delhi, officials said.

  • Fuel Price Today: The price of petrol and diesel in Delhi is at Rs 101.54 per litre and Rs 89.87 per litre respectively today. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 107.54 per litre and Diesel at Rs 97.45. And, Rs 109.89 & Rs 98.67 in Bhopal; Rs 101.74 and Rs 93.02 in Kolkata respectively.
