Licious brings on board Amazon’s Himanshu Verma as CPTO

Bengaluru: Online meat vendor Licious has brought on board Amazon’s Himanshu Verma as chief product and technology officer as it embarks on its next phase of growth.

An industry veteran with more than two decades of experience, Verma’s last assignment was with Amazon, where he served as director of product and engineering. Before that, he served as chief technology officer at Yatra.com. He has also had leadership stints with tech-led companies such as Flipkart, Yahoo and Oracle.

“We are happy to have Himanshu on board with us. As Licious embarks on the next phase of growth, we are confident that his rich experience in building technology for transforming the supply chain and enhancing customer experience will help us chart a new path to success,” Licious co-founders Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta said in a statement.

Commenting on his appointment, Verma said, “I am delighted to join Licious at this point of its growth journey. As a customer-centric and value-driven organisation, Licious is in a great position to deeply impact the large protein-based food industry via technology in years to come…”

Licious, at present, has operations in 15 Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Kochi, Puducherry, Vizag, Vijayawada and Kolkata.
