Temperature rises as rain recedes, clouds may make a comeback

BHOPAL: Due to clear weather on Wednesday, day as well as night temperature rose slightly above the normal mark. Rainfall activity receded in other parts of the state too. But met officials said, the rainfall activity would commence soon after a short break.

There is an upper air cycer over north Chhattisgarh and another upper air cycer over Rajasthan. Monsoon trough is also passing over Guna and Damoh, hence many parts of the state would witness showers soon, said the officials.

Day temperature in Bhopal on Wednesday was recorded at 32.0 degrees Celsius, a degree more than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 23.0 degrees Celsius, also a degree more than normal mark.

The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Khargone 13 mm, Dhar 9.0 mm, Indore 3.6 mm, Malanjkhand 2.0 mm while Ujjain recorded traces of rain.

In the forecast for Bhopal on Thursday, met office stated in a release, there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of light showers. Day and night temperature in the city would be at 31 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively, while average wind speed will be 16 kmph.

In the forecast for the state, met office has issued a warning of heavy showers for places including Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Jhabua, Alirajpur and Dhar districts.
