3 Ways To Check Provident Fund (PF) Balance, Online And Offline

Employees’ Provident Fund (PF) is offered to employees as a good tax-saving investment option, with an 8.5% interest rate, which is quite higher than other assured investment interest rates. EPF is one of the various schemes offered by the EPFO. However, employees wonder how to check the balance available in their PF account after starting contributing to the PF funds. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has 3 options by which employees can check their PF balance. Additionally, an EPFO member can also log in to epfindia.gov.in (the official EPFO website) to solve any query.

From Website

To check the PF balance from the website, you will have to log in at the official website which is – epfindia.gov.in. Then select the ‘Click Here to Know your EPF Balance’ option. After that, the page will redirect you to the epfoservices.in.epfo page. There, choose the “Member Balance Information” window, and select your state. After that, click on your EPFO official link. Here you need to put your PF Account Number, name, and registered mobile number. After filling in the information correctly, click on the ‘Submit’ window. Then, your PF balance will be displayed on the screen.

Through text message (With UAN)

If you do not want to log in to the website, and you do not have internet access, yet you can check your PF balance via text message. You need to send a text message to 7738299899 by typing ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’. You need your 12-digit Unique Identification Number (UAN) for that. You can avail of this facility in 10 different languages.

Check PF Balance by missed call

An employee can check the PF balance ls by simply giving a missed call from his/her registered mobile number to the account. The EPFO has informed that one can get the PF balance by giving a missed call on 011-22901406.
