There would hardly be any Indian who hasn’t watched the show ‘CID. It has been particularly special for the 90s kids who binge-watched the detective show and would play ‘CID’ pretending to be Officer Daya or Officer Abhijeet. In an interview with a leading daily, Aditya Srivastav talked about the detective show, “I really feel very good about it, because Abhijeet from CID is a very integral part of my career. However, the success and fame wasn’t served to him on a silver platter. He got rejections because of looks among other things, but coming from a theatre background, he just wanted to become an actor, and not a hero.

He said, “It’s not that you only get rejected because of your looks. We have heroes who are good looking as well as very talented. Yes we won’t get work in a film where everything is dreamy or a fairy tale story. But when it comes to making real films we get a good chance and good role too. Also I am not one of those actors who got attracted to glamour and chose this profession. I have come from theatre , actors like me are in love with craft and art. Our desire is only to get interesting roles that’s it.”

The actor who is known for his role in CID has worked in films like Haseen DillrubaBlack Friday and Super 30 to name a few, for which he has been appreciated. He previously said that he “consciously avoids cop roles”. He played a politician in Netflix’s Raat Akeli Hai which also marked his digital debut.

Looking back at his journey, he said that he has played good roles in good films and that’s what matters. “I have been very lucky that I have been working continuously for 25 years. I really worked very hard for these years, I never thought of rejections because I was very busy doing whatever I was getting. I was very honest with the work I got. I am very satisfied with what I have,” he added.
