Gir National Park, Gujarat
A natural habitat of the beautiful Asiatic lions, Gir is special. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary to preserve the lions back in 1965, and has been an important wildlife destination in the country. According to a census from 2015, the park has a total of 523 Asiatic Lions today.
