Bharat Bandh Tomorrow Over Demand Of Caste-Based Census. All You Need To Know

New Delhi: The All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF) has called a Bharat Bandh on May 25 (Wednesday) over the Centre not conducting a caste-based census for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), said Saharanpur District President of Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP). In Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP) Saharanpur district president Neeraj Dhiman said, Bharat Bandh has been called because the central government has refused to conduct a caste-based census of other backward castes.

He has also raised the problems related to the use of EVMs in elections and the non-implementation of reservations for SC/ST/OBC in private sectors.

Apart from BAMCEF, the Bharat Bandh on May 25 also got the support of the Bahujan Mukti Party, where the party’s acting state president has urged people to make the bandh a success. Apart from this, the national convener of Bahujan Kranti Morcha has also extended his support to the Bharat Bandh on May 25.

The effect of this Bharat Bandh may be on shops and public transport, due to which the general public may have to face trouble. People calling for Bharat Bandh have appealed to shopkeepers through social media to keep their shops closed on Wednesday.

To make Bharat Bandh 25 May 2022 a success, a campaign is going on vigorously on social media. It is being told why this is being done. 

The purpose of this Bandh is to raise a few demands that include-

1. Stopping the use of EVMs in elections.

2. Caste-based census.

3. SC/ST/OBC reservations in the private sector.

4. A law guaranteeing MSP to farmers.

5. Non-implementation of NRC/CAA/NPR.

6. Resumption of the old pension scheme.

7. Separate electorates in OBC reservation in Panchayat elections in Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.

8. No displacement of tribal people under the garb of environmental protection.

9. Not making vaccination compulsory.
