The Karnataka government has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Mysore, Belgaum, Chamrajnagar, Mandya, Hasssan, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag and Uttar Kannada on Monday i.e. June 13, 2022 in view of teacher constituency elections. The notice is applicable to all government, aided and unaided institutions.
The ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and opposition Congress will go toe-to-toe in elections to three of the four legislative council seats from teachers’ and graduates’ constituencies, on the other hand, fourth seat will also have Janata Dal (Secular) JD(S) in the frame.
Voting to these constituencies will be held on June 13, 2022 and candidates from all three parties have already filed nominations.
