MP: 50 nurses write to CM Shivraj Chouhan alleging sexual misconduct by hospital superintendent

More than 50 nurses have made serious allegations of sexual misconduct against the hospital’s superintendent. About 52 nurses have written a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan complaining about the incident. The incident took place at Bhopal’s Hamidia Hospital.

The accused has been identified as Dr Deepak Maravi.

A petition has been signed by 52 nurses and is marked to the state home minister, the state medical education minister.

According to the nurses, the superintendent enters their changing room under the influence of alcohol.

A nurse said, ”The superintendent attempted a rape on a nurse inside his chamber.”

Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang said that he had received the complaint and asked Bhopal divisional commissioner Gulshan Bhamra to conduct an enquiry and report within 10 days. “I have asked the divisional commissioner to get this enquiry conducted by an administrative officer from outside the hospital and appropriate action would be taken after that,” Sarang Said.
