ED arrests Jharkhand CM’s aide Prem Prakash after recovering AK-47s from his residence

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Prem Prakash, an alleged close aide of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a day after recovering 2 AK-47s from his residence.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Prem Prakash, an alleged close aide of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a day after recovering 2 AK-47 rifles from his residence. Prem Prakash was arrested on Wednesday night after search operations in connection with the alleged illegal mining case.He was arrested from Ranchi under the provisions of the Money Laundering Act.

Two AK-47 rifles and 60 cartridges were recovered by the ED from the home of Prem Prakash on Wednesday. The ED sleuths, while searching Prem Prakash’s Jharkhand residence in a Rs 100-crore illegal mining case, said they found two AK-47s kept in an iron Almirah.

Meanwhile, BJP’s Godda MP Nishikant Dubey said in a tweet,”Prem Prakash has been arrested by the ED. Prakash is an associate of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family friend Amit Agarwal and that his (Prakash) links should be investigated by the NIA.”

Vinod Kumar, SHO Argora Police Station, said the arms recovered (AL-47) from Prem Prakash’s residence belong to security personnel with the police. Ranchi Police said it has suspended two of its officers for keeping their rifles at Prem Prakash’s home.

In May, the agency had interrogated Prem Prakash, a real estate businessman, in connection with an illegal mining and money laundering case.
