Tata-Bisleri deal is off; Tata Consumer says no potential transaction with Bisleri, talks ceased

Tata Consumer Products said it has ceased negotiations with Bisleri with regard to a potential transaction and to confirm. The Tata group company said it has not entered into any definitive agreement or binding commitment on this matter.

Tata Consumer Products on Friday, March 17, 2023, informed stock exchanges that it has ceased talks with Bisleri with regard to a potential transaction. Tata Consumer Products has not entered into any definitive agreement or binding commitment on this matter, the Tata group company said in a regulatory filing.

“The above announcement is issued voluntarily to prevent any speculation concerning the matter,” Tata Consumer added.

Tata Consumer share price settled two percent higher at Rs 708 apiece on BSE ahead of the news.

A potential deal with Bisleri would have enabled the Tata group to expand its portfolio of bottled water brands in India.
