UPSC Civil Services 2020 Results Declared, Shubham Kumar Tops IAS Exam

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2020 result declared, 61 candidates have been recommended for appointment.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final result of the civil services examination 2020. A total of 761 candidates have been recommended for appointment. The top rank has been obtained by Shubham Kumar. The topper is from Katihari, Bihar. He is an alumnus of IIT-Bombay. This is his second attempt. He had earlier appeared for Civil Services in 2019 and obtained 290 rank.

Bhopal girl Jagrati Awasthi is obtained rank 2 and is the topper among females. The 24-year-old is also an engineering graduate. She has been working with BHEL since 2019.

Civil Services topper and IAS Tina Dabi’s younger sister Ria Dabi has secured 15th rank in the UPSC CSE result declared today. Just like the elder sister, Ria too is a student of Delhi University. She has graduated from Lady Sri Ram College. Apart from academics she also has an interest in painting.

Further, as many as 15 students from Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) have cracked the prestigious exam. RCA is funded by the University Grants Commission, provide free coaching and residential facilities to students belonging to SC, ST, Women, and the Minorities categories.

The UPSC CSE 2020 result is available at the official website, upsc.gov.in, however, detailed marks of the candidates are not yet out and will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of the result.

Of the total 761 candidates, as many as 263 are from the general or unreserved category, 86 from EWS, 229 from OBC, 122 from SC, and 61 from the ST category, according to the official data. As many as 150 candidates are on the reserve list. of these 75 students are general, 15 EWS, 55 OBC, five SC and one ST.

As many as 180 candidates will be shortlisted for the IAS position, 36 for IFS, 200 for IPS officers’ posts. Further 302 vacancies will be filled in central services group A and 118 in group B services. “Appointment to the various services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in the rules for the examination,” UPSC said in an official notice.

In case a student finds any error in the result or needs to clarify something, they can connect with UPSC. The commission has set up a facilitation counter near the exam hall at its campus. Candidates can obtain any information or clarification regarding their exam or results on working days between 10 am to 5 pm. Candidates can also reach out at 23385271, 23381125, and 23098543.
