GOOGLE DOODLE HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANCE OF WEARING FACE MASKS

Tuesday’s doodle had all the letters in ‘Google’ covered in a mask, along with a vaccine syringe for the letter “L”. It highlighted the importance of health guidelines such as – wearing face masks, washing hands and social distancing.

Additionally, when one places the cursor above the doodle, the text “Masks are still important. Wear a mask and save lives,” appears above it.

After clicking on the doodle, Google redirects netizens to a page that reads, “Wear a mask. Save lives. Wear a face cover. Wash your hands. Keep a safe distance.”

The page also highlights few steps that one can follow to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The steps mentioned on the page were:

Clean your hands often. Use soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub. Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.

Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.

Stay home if you feel unwell.

If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.”

“Calling in advance allows your healthcare provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This protects you, and prevents the spread of viruses and other infections,” the message said further.

India is currently witnessing the second wave of the coronavirus. For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began in India, the country registered more than 1 lakh cases in a single day. India on Tuesday registered 96,982 fresh coronavirus cases.
