Himachal Pradesh govt issues travel advisory for tourists, makes Covid e-pass mandatory

Himachal Pradesh government issued advisory for tourists as travel restrictions were eased in the state in view of declining trend in coronavirus cases.

Himachal Pradesh government on Monday issued travel advisory for tourists visiting the state as the government relaxed curbs in view of drop in Covid-19 cases.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that people visiting the state will have to register online and apply for a Covid e-pass.

The chief minister said that everyone who wished to enter the state are now required to enter their particulars online. He further added that the details of visitor’s arrival were being shared with all the concerned stakeholders.

“Government has removed the condition of RT-PCR requirement to enter the State. Nobody will be allowed to flout the norms fixed by the government to check spread of the coronavirus.” Jai Ram Thakur said.

Hoteliers have been directed to strictly follow the SOPs issued by the state government.

CM Jai Ram Thakur also asked the tourists to follow Covid-19 protocols.

“I appeal to the tourists to adhere to these guidelines, wear the facemasks and maintain social distancing,” the chief minister said.

Tourists rushed to the hill state as soon as the state government eased travel restrictions. Hundreds of cars were seen on the road leading to Himachal Pradesh, causing massive congestion.
