UAN stands for Universal Account Number to be allotted by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). An EPFO member can update one’s bank details with UAN by following a few simple steps. 

Bank account update on UAN: UAN stands for Universal Account Number to be allotted by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The EPFO has recently tweeted from its official Twitter account regarding how an EPFO member can update one’s bank account details in UAN. The members can also get details about this process from the official EPFO website at epfindia.gov.in.  

The recent tweet from EPFO said, “Know the simple steps through which #employees can easily update their Bank Account Details in #UAN.” 

In order to update one’s bank account details with UAN, one has to follow three simple steps. They are as follows: 

Step 1: In the first place, one has to visit ‘Unified Member Portal’ and login with UAN and password

Step 2: Now, one has to click on the ‘Manage’ tab and select the ‘KYC’ option from the drop down menu 

Step 3: After doing this, one has to select ‘Documents’. Then one has to enter ‘Bank account number’ and IFSC and then click on ‘Save’ 

It has to be noted that following the submission of the new bank details, it will show that ‘KYC pending for approval’. Now, one has to submit the documents to the employer. Following the verification of the documents by the employer, the ‘KYC pending for approval’ will change to ‘Digitally Approved KYC’. 

In case of the members, who have bank accounts with the State Bank of India (SBI), the KYC will be digitally verified by the bank itself. 

Once, the bank details are successfully verified by the employer or SBI, the members will receive confirmation message from EPFO.
