Puma opens its largest store in north India in Gurgaon

German sportswear brand Puma on Thursday opened its largest store in north India in Gurgaon.

The store in Gurgaon’s CyberHub retail destination is spread over about 7,000 sq ft and is a “digitally-enabled experiential store” with a lot of digital touch points to lure digitally savvy customers who are increasingly shopping online.

Gurgaon store is the second largest for Puma in India after its flagship outlet in Bengaluru.

Puma had lined up a whole host of celebrities for the event including boxing world champion MC Mary Kom, member of Tokyo Olympics Hockey bronze medal-winning team Rupinder Pal Singh, cricketer Washington Sundar and singer Harrdy Sandhu for the opening event on Thursday evening.

Puma’s large NCR store comes close on the heels of a flagship store launch last month in New Delhi by rival Adidas. Spread over around 6,000 sq ft in the capital’s premier business district of Connaught Place, the store boasts of 32 digital touch points including immersive screens, digital plinths and ceiling screens to give customers a digital shopping experience.

Similarly, US-based Nike Inc. is planning to launch its largest India store of about 10,000 sq ft in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk, according to sources.
