The EPFO has recently tweeted about the benefits payable to the orphans, children, widow/ widower under the EPS ’95 scheme.

EPS Pension Scheme 1995 Latest News: There are several schemes under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). These are the EPF Scheme 1952, Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS) and Insurance Scheme 1976 (EDLI). The EPFO has recently tweeted about the benefits payable to the orphans, children, widow/ widower under the EPS ’95 scheme. In case of any query, the EPFO members can login to the official website of EPFO at epfindia.gov.in.

Now, the features of the Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS) are as follows:

1) Benefit provided in case of death of an employee who was a member of the scheme at the time of death

2) Benefit amount 20 times of the wages. Maximum benefit of 6 lakh.

In one of its recent tweets, EPFO tweeted regarding the benefits payable to the orphans under the EPS scheme from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, “Benefits payable to orphans under EPS’95.”

The benefits available to the orphans under EPS ’95 scheme are as follows:

1) Pension amount is 75 per cent of monthly widow pension, with minimum of Rs 750 per month, each for two orphans at a time

2) The pension will be paid till 25 years of age

3) The pension will be paid lifelong if the person is suffering from any disability

In a subsequent tweet, the EPFO has also mentioned about the benefits payable to the widow/ widowers and children under this particular scheme. The tweet said, “Benefits payable to Widow/Widower & Children under EPS’95.”

The benefits payable to the widow/ widower are as follows:

1) In case, a member dies while in service, the widow or widower is entitled for a minimum monthly pension of Rs 1000.

2) In case of death of the pensioner, the pension to his or her widow or widower is 50 per cent of the pension

The benefits payable to the children are as follows:

1) The pension amount equals to 25 per cent of the widow or widower pension to each child and this is subjected to maximum two children at a time

2) The children pension is payable to two children at a time till 25 years of age.
