Xiaomi plans to release MIUI 13 by December-end: Here’s all you need to know

The new user interface will bring in multiple performances and battery optimizations along with a revamped design. 

Xiaomi MIUI 13 release date: Lei Jun, founder of the global smartphone brand Xiaomi, recently announced that the company will release its next major version of MIUI, dubbed MIUI 13 before the end of this year. Jun also revealed that the MIUI 13 will bring lots of changes that will greatly improve the user experience.

The new user interface will bring in multiple performances and battery optimizations along with a revamped design. The update was earlier planned for the Mi MIX 4 release. However, the developers needed more time to improve the software. Lei Jun also noted that the recently announced MIUI 12.5’s battery optimizations are contributing to the Redmi Note 11 Pro battery life, the BGR India reported.

The company announced MIUI 12.5 Enhanced brings several performance-related tweaks. With the update the system performance will drop by less than 5 percent after 36 months. It will also bring Atomic or Atomized Memory features that will let a user keep more apps in the background.

According to the smartphone maker, the time of the Chinese launch that MIUI 12.5 Enhanced also fixed 160 system issues and over 220 system app issues. The update also comes with all-round optimizations for the bottom framework to the top-most application layer. The optimizations are divided into four aspects–Liquid Storage, Atomic Memory, Focus Calculation, and Intelligent Balance.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has announced that the sales of the Redmi Note series smartphones have exceeded 240 million units globally. According to the report from Counterpoint Research, led by Xiaomi, Chinese brands captured 74 percent share in the Indian smartphone market in the third quarter (Q3), as overall shipments declined 2 percent (on-year) to reach over 52 million units, a new report showed on Thursday.

Xiaomi led the market with a 22 percent shipment share while Samsung captured the second spot with a 19 percent share and Samsung led the mid-to upper-tier price segment (Rs 10,000-Rs 30,000) with a 25 percent market share while OnePlus registered its highest ever shipments in India (Its Nord series cumulative shipments crossed 3 million units).
