Aryan Khan drug case: NCB suspects illegal phone tapping after Nawab Malik releases conversation between Sam D’Souza and VV Singh

Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik recently leaked a phone conversation between Sam D’Souza and NCB official, VV Singh. Now, the central agency suspects that it is the result of an illegal phone tapping.

According to a report in IndiaToday. In, NCB sources suspected that VV Singh’s phone was tapped after the agency’s action on a retired Mumbai Police ACP’s son Shreyas Kenjale in June 2021. The report also added that the agency also suspects that Sam D’Souza could have leaked the conversation.

NCB reportedly stated that they had taken note of the leak and the matter had been put before senior officials to contemplate the next move. An NCB source also reportedly told the news portal that two calls from Dubai were received by an NCB official after Nawab Malik’s press conference.

D’Souza’s name had reportedly cropped up in connection with the pay-off allegations in the Mumbai cruise drugs case involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.

Nawab Malik had taken to his Twitter handle and released a purported telephonic conversation between D’Souza and V V Singh. He said VV Singh called D’Souza for interrogation in June this year and had also warned the latter against changing his phone handset.

NCB had arrested Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha after a drug bust in Mumbai on October 3. After spending about 22 days in Arthur Road jail, they were recently released on bail by the Bombay High Court.
