Mumbai COVID-19 Active Cases Today, Maharashtra, Mumbai Omicron Cases Latest News, Mumbai Travel Guidelines News, 7 Jan: Maharashtra health department has directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to ramp up testing for Covid-19, with the city reporting 20,181 fresh cases on Thursday.

Mumbai Live News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a review meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray via videoconferencing on Friday evening to assess the Covid-19 situation in the state, said Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar. She added that there are no plans to impose a weekend curfew in the state yet.

Maharashtra registered 36,265 fresh Covid cases on Thursday, with Mumbai recording a sharp 31.7% spike in daily cases within 24 hours. The city’s numbers include that of Dharavi, also Asia’s largest slum cluster, which recorded its highest-ever single day tally on Thursday.

As per the data provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 20,181 new cases were recorded on Thursday in Mumbai, of which 17,154, or 85%, are asymptomatic while 1,170 had to be admitted to hospital.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra health department has directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to ramp up testing for Covid-19, with the city reporting 20,181 fresh cases on Thursday.

Also, amid a surge in daily Covid-19 cases in Mumbai and a day after the Union Ministry of Health cut the isolation period for patients in home isolation to seven days, the BMC on Thursday released new home isolation guidelines for asymptomatic and mild cases.

In other news, the two accused, Shweta Singh 18 and Mayank Rawat 21, arrested in the Bulli bai app case by Mumbai Crime Branch’s cyber police were produced before Bandra magistrate court on Friday and remanded to police custody till Monday. The duo was arrested in Uttarakhand for posting obscene content from the Bulli bai app on their Twitter handles. Vishal Jha, 21, the first accused arrested in the case is also in police custody till Monday.
