Heatwave Across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Temperature To Soar By 3 Degrees: IMD

According to the Amaravati Meteorological Department, the highest temperature recorded in Kurnool during this season was 40.5 degrees.

Hyderabad: Temperatures will rise in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to heatwave, said India Meteorological Department. Temperatures of up to 40 degrees have been recorded in the daytime for the last three days. The IMD officials have warned people to be extra vigilant as the temperatures will be between 41 and 45 degrees from Tuesday onwards.

The districts of Kadapa, Kurnool, Guntur, and Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh will experience the highest temperatures. Heatwave are likely in all other districts too. According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in eastern Telangana districts will record up to 43 degrees. The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert in some places and an orange alert in other districts.

The climate in the northern coastal belt of Andhara Pradesh, Yanam has become drier. Daytime temperatures are soaring in Visakhapatnam, Vijayanagaram and Srikakulam districts. The highest daytime temperature was recorded at 37.1 degrees in Jangameshwarapuram on Monday. Amaravati recorded 36.5 degrees, Kavali 36.3 degrees and Nellore 36.7 degrees.

The temperatures are high in Rayalaseema and South Coastal districts. According to the Amaravati Meteorological Department, the highest temperature recorded in Kurnool this season so far was 40.5 degrees. Followed by Anantapur which recorded 39.4 degrees, Nandyal at 38.8 degrees and Tirupati at 38.3 degrees.

Telangana Weather Update

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (Hyderabad), the temperature in Telangana is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees in the next five days. In the eastern Telangana districts, especially in Nalgonda, Mahabubabad, Suryapeta, Warangal Urban, Rural, Bhadradri Kothagudem districts, the temperature will be recorded between 42-43 degrees, according to RMC, Hyderabad.
