Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya: Inaugurated! PM Narendra Modi becomes first visitor to buy ticket

Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya: PM Narendra Modi bought the first ticket at ‘Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya’ on April 14, 2022, after inaugurating the museum dedicated to the former Prime Ministers of India. The Sandrahalaya is a museum dedicated to showcasing the contributions of all the former Prime Ministers since independence.

“Guided by the vision of PM Modi to honour the contribution of all the Prime Ministers of India towards nation-building, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya is a tribute to every Prime Minister of India since Independence, irrespective of their ideology or tenure in office,” a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office stated.

The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to educate and inspire the younger generation about the leadership, vision, and achievements of all Indian Prime Ministers.

Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya: Key things to know about

1. Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya has been designed as a tribute to the rise of India through the hands of its leaders. Sangrahalaya will have a total of 43 galleries.

2. Sustainable and energy-saving techniques are incorporated into the design of the museum building. During the construction of the Sangrahalaya project, no trees were cut or replanted.

3. The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya logo features the hands of the people of India holding the Dharma Chakra, a symbol of nationhood and democracy.

4. Information required for the construction of the museum was compiled from various sources and repositories with the assistance of institutions such as Doordarshan, Prasar Bharti, Sansad TV, the Defence Ministry, Films Division, and media houses and foreign news agencies.

5. We will display personal items, gifts, memorabilia, medals, honours, commemorative stamps, coins, speeches of the Prime Ministers, and anecdotes about their lives and ideologies in a thematic fashion.  

6. The Sangrahalaya will also employ cutting-edge technology-based interfaces to encompass heterogeneity in content and frequent rotation of the display.

7. The exhibition content will be highly interactive and engaging through the use of holograms, virtual reality, multimedia, interactive kiosks, augmented reality, smartphone applications, experimental installations, multi-touch smartphone applications and computerised kinetic sculptures.
