India’s biggest sporting league – the Indian Premier League’s media rights are going under the hammer at the moment and bids have already crossed a whopping Rs 43,255 crore. Making IPL the second biggest sporting league in the world after National Football League. The highest bidder will pay over 100 crores for telecasting an IPL match. And the auction is not over yet.

Cricket’s Indian Premier League is placed at number four on the list with revenue of media rights around $6.3 Billion for 2017-2022. It is the most-watched TV broadcast ever in India. The IPL is expected to jump up to the second spot after the media rights auction of 2023-27.
