SBI account holder? Here is how to stop money loss while doing SBI Net Banking

Online frauds and phishing attacks are the most common cyberattacks faced by individuals as well as organizations, as per the State Bank of India. However, Net Banking users also are always at risk. 

You can protect yourself against such attacks and save your money by following these simple guidelines issued by the State Bank of India.

1. Secure SBI LOGIN:

You should never use easy or common passwords in your login details. Ensure that your password is complex and unique. Users should never share their User ID, password, Debit/Credit Card No., PIN, CVV with ANYONE. Change your passwords periodically to prevent any hacks.

2. SBI URL:

Whenever you open the bank website, always ensure that it is a ?https? link. If you?re travelling between places, never use the public WiFi networks to do any transactions. ALWAYS remember to log out after each session. Never keep your banking credentials the same as your other online accounts. Never save your login credentials on your browser as they can be easily misused.

3. UPI Protection:

NEVER set your UPI PIN the same as your mobile PIN. If you receive unknown UPI transaction requests, never respond to them. Instead, report such requests to the Bank. If any transaction has taken place without your permission, immediately disable your UPI account and contact your Bank. Your UPI PIN is only required for sending money, not receiving it, so never share it with anyone.

4. Social Media:

Do not share your personal or financial information with ANYONE on social media platforms. If you wish to do a transaction with anyone, always first confirm the identity of the person.

5. Credit/Debit Card Protection:

NEVER share your Credit/Debit card CVV or OTP with anyone. While performing ATM transactions, always cover your keypad while entering sensitive details like PIN. Before purchasing through e-commerce websites, always check the credibility of the website.

6. Mobile Banking:

Set a strong mobile PIN and NEVER share it with anyone. Additionally, enable biometric authentication to prevent any unauthorized access. Do not download any apps from any source except the Google Play Store or the App Store.
