Heavy rainfall in Delhi affects flight schedules; traffic police issues advisory

Heavy rainfall lashed parts of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday morning, bringing much respite from the heat. Budget airline SpiceJet announced that departures and arrivals of flights have been affected due to heavy rains in the national capital.

Taking to Twitter, Spicejet wrote, “Weather update: Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via SpiceJet website.” (sic)

The passengers travelling from Delhi Airport have been advised to plan their journey, accordingly.

TRAFFIC POLICE ADVISORY

Meanwhile, Delhi Traffic Police has also issued an advisory and warned commuters to keep the weather conditions in mind while planning the journey.

“Traffic Alert. As per IMD report, “Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi.” Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly,” tweeted Delhi Traffic Police.

Parts of Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall with gusty winds on Tuesday. The IMD has predicted generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain for the next seven days in the city.

The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, while the minimum temperature might settle around 26 degrees Celsius.
