Telangana extends holiday for all educational institutions owing to heavy rains

In light of the persistent heavy rain throughout the state, the Telangana government has decided to extend holidays for all government-aided and private educational institutions until July 16. K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief minister of Telangana, made a decision to this effect.

Due to significant rainfall in the state, the state administration had already proclaimed July 11–13 a holiday for all educational institutions.

The state’s educational institutions will resume classes on July 18 in accordance with the Telangana government’s official decision.

“In view of continuing heavy rains, the Government has decided to extend holidays for all educational institutions (government, aided and private) from 14.7.2022 to 16.7.2022 in the State. Educational Institutions shall re-open from 18.07.2022,” said the official order.

As Telangana continued to experience severe rains on Tuesday, low-lying areas were submerged and road connections between villages were damaged in numerous locations.
