Security tightened in Delhi ahead of farmers’ protest tomorrow, Rakesh Tikait taken into custody

Ahead of a farmers’ protest in Delhi on Monday, Delhi Police tightened the security in the national capital.

Delhi Police on Sunday put up cemented barricades and tightened security at the Delhi-Haryana’s Tikri border, ahead of a call by farmers to protest at Jantar Mantar tomorrow, August 22. Farmers started arriving in Delhi throughout the day.

Rakesh Tikait, the spokesperson of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) was taken into preventive custody at Madhu Vihar Police Station ahead of the protest. Rakesh tweeted and said, “The Delhi Police cannot suppress the voice of the farmers.”
