PM SHRI Schools: PM Modi announces PM SHRI Yojana on Teachers Day, 14500 schools to get facelift

On the occasion of Teachers Day 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a new initiative! As per the announcement made by PM Modi, over 14,000 schools will be developed and upgraded as PM SHRI Schools under the newly launched PM SHRI Yojana.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India, PM SHRI Yojana, a total of 14,500 schools will be developed and upgraded as model schools which will aim towards encapsulating the full spirit of the National Education Policy, NEP 2020.

As per the Prime Minister of India, the PM SHRI Schools will have a modern, transformational and holistic method of imparting education. “Emphasis will be on a discovery oriented, learning centric way of teaching,” PM Modi further added.

For these new PM SHRI Schools, the focus will also be on modern infrastructure such as smart classrooms, sports and more which will incorporate the latest technology. Taking to Twitter, PM Modi also shared how NEP 2020 has transformed the education system of India since its launch in 2020.

“The National Education Policy has transformed the education sector in recent years. I am certain that the PM-SHRI schools will further benefit lakhs of students across India in the spirit of NEP,” stated PM Modi.

For Teachers Day 2022, the Prime Minister also hosted the winners of the National Award to Teachers 2022 today, September 5, at his residence. A total of 46 teachers had been facilitated with the National Teachers Award.
