How to send messages and attachments confidentially on Gmail

Gmail is one of the most used email services around the world. If you want to create a Gmail account in just a few simple steps, you can create it. But before that, you need to sign up for a Google account. You can send confidential messages and attachments on Gmail to help protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.

You can set an expiration date for messages or revoke access at any time when sending confidential mail on Gmail. Recipients of the confidential message will have the option to forward, copy, print, and download disabled.

HERE IS HOW TO SEND MESSAGES AND ATTACHMENTS CONFIDENTIALLY ON GMAIL:

Step 1: Open the Gmail app on your Android phone or tablet.

Step 2: Then tap on Compose.

Step 3: In the top right, tap on More and then on Confidential mode.

Note: If you’ve already turned on confidential mode for the email, go to the bottom of the email, then tap Edit.

Step 4: Now turn on ‘Confidential mode.

Step 5: Set an expiration date, passcode, and other controls.

Note: These settings impact both the message text and any attachments.

  • If you choose “No SMS passcode,” recipients using the Gmail app will be able to open it directly. Recipients who don’t use Gmail will get emailed a passcode.
  • If you choose “SMS passcode,” recipients will get a passcode by text message. Make sure you enter the recipient’s phone number, not your own.
