Even though the domestic equity market ended on a high note on Tuesday, the cues from the SGX Nifty, Asian and US markets remained negative for the Indian market. On Tuesday, Nifty50 gained 194 points or 1.1% to end at 17,816.25, while the Sensex rose 578.51 points or 0.98% to settle at 59,719.74.
On Wednesday, SGX Nifty dropped around 100 points to trade near 17,700 in early trade on the Singaporean exchange, while Japanese Nikkei dropped 1.4%, Hang Seng Index declined 1.3% and Chinese Shanghai Composite traded lower by 0.7%.

Earlier, the US market slipped in the red on Tuesday, one day ahead of monetary policy announcements by Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell. Dow Jones, Nasdaq and S&P 500 declined by around one per cent each.
