Hackers Attack Tata Power IT Systems: All You Need To Know

Tata Group

Tata Power was recently hit with a cyberattack on its IT infrastructure, affecting its various systems, revealed a PTI report.

This was revealed in a BSE filing from the Mumbai headquartered company, while also revealing that measures have been undertaken to retrieve and restore the systems.

As of now, all critical operational systems are working, however, for precaution, the company has restricted access as well as added preventative checks for employees as well as customer-facing portals.

According to a senior official from the Maharashtra Police’s cyber wing, intelligence input was received regarding a threat to Tata Power and other electricity companies. All companies concerned have been alerted and audits and checking of firewalls are being conducted.

This comes at a time when Tata Power announced its partnership with Kolte-Patil Developers along with Hyundai to install e-charging stations as well as EV infra across the nation. It plans on setting up e-charging stations across its projects in Pune, Bengaluru and Mumbai for making EV charging more convenient for early EV adopters across the cities.

Hyundai Motor India, in May, announced its collaboration with Tata Power to install fast-charging stations across its select dealerships in the nation. The company would install 60kW DC charging stations across 34 EV dealerships in 29 cities to cater all kinds of EVs via Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app.

As per the deal, Hyundai would work on getting space and necessary administrative approvals whereas Tata Power would help maintain and operate the charging stations.
