Rao rules out early assembly polls in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday ruled out early assembly elections in the state.

There is a strong speculation that TRS chief Rao would opt for early polls after his party’s win in Munugode assembly by-poll.

Addressing a meeting of party MPs, MLAs and other key leaders, Rao dismissed the possibility of early election.

He reminded them that only about 10 months or so were left before the next Assembly election and they must reach out to the people and spread words about the government’s welfare measures in their constituencies.

Chief Minister Rao spoke about devising a strong election strategy for the next assembly poll. He assured that all sitting MLAs would be given tickets and all surveys have indicated that the TRS will form the next government.

The Chief Minister also cautioned the party leaders against the BJP and accused the saffron party of trying to overthrow the government.

He said that they need to repulse the BJP’s attacks and fight against it. He also said that there was no need to be apprehensive about investigative agencies like ED or CBI.
