Thiruvananthapuram: Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) is set to become costly in Kerala as the state cabinet today approved 4% increase in general sales tax.

Earlier in June, the state government had hinted at the possibility of a rise in cost of Indian-made foreign liquor as the cost of raw material reportedly increased. While replying to the discussion on the demands for grants in the State Assembly in June, Minister for Excise MV Govindan reportedly said the cost of raw materials for the production of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) had shot up.
