Locker facility is one of the ancillary services a bank provides to its customers. Not all bank branches have this facility. Branches with locker facility are equipped with high security features and specially built strong rooms. Lockers are used to store important documents, jewelry, loan papers, savings bonds, etc..

Banks levy a charge for availing such a facility depending on the size of the locker and the centre where the branch is located. At the time the locker is assigned, a copy of the locker agreement governing its use will be given to the locker hirer.

SBI locker charges

SBI locker fees range from Rs 500 to Rs 3,000 depending on the locality and locker size. In metro and metropolitan areas, the bank charges Rs 2,000, Rs 4,000, Rs 8,000, and Rs 12,000 for small, medium, large, and extra-large size lockers, respectively. In semi-urban and rural locations, the bank charges Rs 1,500, Rs 3,000, Rs 6,000, and Rs 9,000 for small, medium, big, and extra-large size lockers, respectively.

HDFC Bank locker charges

Depending on their sizes, availability, and locations, locker fees can range from Rs 3,000 to Rs 20,000 annually. At metro and urban locations, it typically offers annual storage fees of Rs 3,000 for small lockers, Rs 5,000 for medium-sized lockers, and Rs 10,000 for large lockers.

ICICI Bank locker charges

ICICI Bank charges between Rs 1,200 and Rs 5,000 for a small-size locker, and between Rs 10,000 and Rs 22,000 for an extra-large locker. Keep in mind that these fees do not include GST.

PNB Bank locker charges

PNB customers pay yearly rent of above Rs 1,250 in rural and semi-urban areas. The bank fee for urban and metro areas ranges from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000.

Axis Bank locker charges

The charge for initial Locker registration at Axis Bank is Rs 1,000 + GST (not applicable to Burgundy / Burgundy Private customers). Free locker visits are limited to three per calendar month; thereafter, each visit costs Rs 100 + GST.

Canara Bank locker charges

At Canara Bank branches, the one-time locker registration charge is Rs 400 plus GST. Service charge for locker operations, limited to 12 per year for free, after that there will be a charge of Rs 100 per operation plus GST.
