Bank holidays 2023: Banks to remain closed on these days; check month-wise list

bank holiday

New Delhi: Banks across India observe holidays based on three categories – Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. Not all banks are closed on all holidays and some observe state-wise holidays.

In view of this, it is important to know beforehand when will the banks in your area be closed so that your time and efforts don’t go to waste. However, online and net banking services will continue to work as available during the bank holidays.

The RBI has released the list of holidays for 2023, according to which, lenders across the country will be shut for over 160 days including on Sundays and second Saturdays.
