It is still unclear how Yadav met with the fatal accident.

His family learned about the accident after Yadav’s cousin Amit Kumar called him around the same time the mishap occurred.

The phone was, however, answered by an Ola cab driver who informed Amit that Yadav was hit by a car that dragged him for around one km towards the road leading to Shani Mandir and then sped off.

Immediately, Amit and others rushed to the spot and took Yadav to the hospital. However, he had by then succumbed to his injuries.

Police searching for missing driver

There are also some reports that the driver of the car that hit Yadav had stopped near a temple – about 500 meters from the accident spot – and fled the scene after his body came off.

Yadav’s family members have filed an FIR at a police station. As part of the investigation, a police team went to the site of the accident.

The car involved in the accident and the driver who informed the family about the accident are yet to be identified.

Police are looking through CCTV visuals from nearby areas to piece together the incident.

Woman dragged 3 km by truck

On Wednesday, another hit-and-run case was also reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, where a woman travelling on a two-wheeler was hit by a truck that dragged her for nearly 3 km.

Pushpa Singh, a junior clerk at the Agriculture University, was hit from behind by a dumper truck.

Pushpa’s two-wheeler got stuck in the dumper and caught fire. The truck driver continued to drag Pushpa and the two-wheeler until the fire spread to the front part of his vehicle.

The truck driver then abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene.
