Petrol, Diesel CNG Prices Today: The prices of petrol and diesel remained unchanged for consecutive 245th day on Saturday, January 21. In Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel rate is Rs 89.62 per litre while in Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre.
State-run oil marketing companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum announce fuel price revision, if any, at 6 am daily.

OMCs haven’t revised the fuel prices for over seven months now. Due to the petrol, diesel price freeze, OMCs incurred massive losses but haven’t passed on the price hike to the consumers.
The last revision in fuel prices across the country was done on May 22 last year when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had slashed the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel, respectively.
This reduction in the excise duty brought the price of a litre of petrol and diesel down by Rs 9.5 and Rs 7, respectively.
