EPFO passbook balance check online, SMS number: The union ministry keeps updating its services for EPFO subscribers for ease of use. Now everything has been made digital where a subscriber can simply sign-up and can access all services through the online credentials. 

EPFO passbook balance check online, SMS number: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is one of the world’s largest organisations in terms of clientele and the volume of financial transactions undertaken by it. 

The retirement fund body is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The union ministry keeps updating its services for EPFO subscribers for ease of use. Now everything has been made digital where a subscriber can simply sign-up and can access all services through the online credentials. 

In fact, not just checking the balance online, the EPF account holder can access several services through online mode, including account transfer while changing jobs, e-nominations among others.

EPF subscribers can easily check their e-statement and know their recruiter’s contribution in the Provident Fund account. Accessing your e-statement is not just important for checking balance but it also helps individuals to know their PF account number, details of the pension scheme, recruiter’s name and ID, among other details which helps them while switching their employers. 

EPFO has made everything visible in the digital domain and all the information is available on the official website of the EPFO — epfindia.gov.in. EPF passbook download, EPF balance, EPF statement, etc. all such information is available online now.

EPF e-passbook download online! Step by step guide

For EPF passbook download online, the account holder has to be registered at the EPFO website. IF the EPF account holder is registered there, he or she can log in and follow the below mentioned steps:

1) Log in at epfindia.gov.in 

2) Click at ‘Activate UAN’;

3) You will be redirected to a new web page;

4) Fill information like UAN, PAN Card number, etc.;

5) Click at ‘Get Authorisation PIN’;

6) You will be again redirected to a new page where you will be asked to verify the PIN through OTP sent to your registered mobile number through SMS;

7) Fill OTP and click at ‘Validate OTP and Activate UAN’;

8) Again you will receive password and PIN through SMS;

9) Now you can log in into your account with that PIN and can change after logging in for once.

After the successful registration, you will be able to download your EPF Passbook after six hours of successful registration.

EPFO: Check balance through UMANG app 

EPFO-registered employees can also check their PF balance via UMANG app on the “View Passbook” tab. 

Check PF account balance with a phone number

You can check whether money is being deposited in your account or not. Just give miss a call from a registered mobile number on 9966044425. This call will be automatically cut after a ring. 

Check PF balance with SMS

Step 1: Send an SMS to 7738299899 by typing EPFOHO UAN ENG from your mobile number.

Step 2: The last 3 letters in sms indicate your preferred language. In this, ENG means English. You can choose from a total of 10 languages like English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam and Gujarati.

Step 3: For Hindi, you have to send HIN, PUN for Punjabi, GUJ for Gujarati, MAR for Marathi, KAN for Kannada, TEL for Telugu, TAM for Tamil, MAL for Malayalam and BEN for Bengali.

Step 4: SMS is sent from the same mobile number that is registered with the mobile number Universal Account Number (UAN).

Step 5: EPFO will send your final PF contribution, balance details, and available KYC information to your mobile number through an SMS.

How to know PF balance without UAN

Step 1: Visit the official website https://www.epfindia.gov.in/

Step 2: Click here to check your PF balance from the homepage

Step 3: EPFO page will appear.

Step 4: Select your state.

Step 5: Enter EPFO head office.

Step 6: Enter your business code.

Step 7: Enter the PF account number, name, and mobile phone number.

Step 8: Check the “I agree” box in the acknowledgment box, after which the member’s balance will appear.
