Jaya Ekadashi 2023: Date, time, puja vidhi and significance

Every year in the Hindu month of Magha, the celebration of Jaya Ekadashi is performed. It is this time of the year when Lord Vishnu is worshipped. As per the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi tithi of Magha Shukla paksha is known as Jaya Ekadashi. The name Jaya comes from the gatekeeper of Lord Vishnu’s heavenly abode, Vaikuntha. Observing this fast will bring peace and a spiritual awakening to an individual’s life. Devotees pay tribute to the idols of Lord Vishnu during this day.

JAYA EKADASHI 2023: SIGNIFICANCE

The Hindu Puranas mention the importance of observing the fast in the Ekadashi Tithi. It is believed that Lord Krishna narrated the importance of this fast to king Yudhishthira. And people get rid of their past sins and the ones committed in the previous birth by following the rituals of this Ekadashi.

The fast brings a sense of mental relief and gets rid of pain and suffering. The devotee cleanses his mind by generating good thoughts and actions to perform later in life.
