India to roll out ‘Vande Metro’ for regular inter-city commute

New Delhi: Indian Railways intends to introduce fully “Made In India” Vande Metro Trains by 2024, building on the popularity of Vande Bharat semi-high-speed trains.

Regular commuters’ needs for transportation between Mega Cities and their satellite towns would be met by this condensed form of the Vande Bharat trains.

The new trains could alter the intercity travel landscape in India because of their faster speeds and increased comfort.
