Gold, silver prices today, March 8 – Prices fall marginally on MCX on Holi – Check rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and other cities

Gold, silver prices today, March 8: The prices of both the precious metals – gold and silver declined in the early trade on March 8 (Wednesday) on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) in India.

The Gold futures, maturing on April 5, 2023 declined by 1.36 percent or Rs 757 to stand at Rs 55,012 per 10 grams on the MCX at around 7.45 AM today.

The prices of silver too witnessed decline on Holi as the silver futures expiring on May 5, 2023 dropped by 3.32 per cent or Rs 2139 to stand at Rs 62210 per kilogram on Wednesday at around 7.45 AM.

Gold, silver prices on March 7

Both gold and silver settled at Rs 55769, and at Rs 64349, respectively on the previous trading day close on March 7 (Tuesday).

Gold, silver prices today March 8 in international market

Gold prices declined over 1 per cent on Tuesday, as the dollar jumped after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell indicated rate hikes could come at a faster pace from the U.S. central bank in his testimony to a congressional committee. Spot gold was down 1.8 per cent at $1,813.11 per ounce. U.S. gold futures fell 1.9 per cent to settle at $1,817.70 per ounce. Spot silver lost 4.7 per cent to $20.04 per ounce.
