Delhi Metro alert: Delay in services on the Yellow Line. Details here

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has informed that there is a delay in train services on the Yello Line. According to DMRC, the services have been delayed between Kashmere Gate and Central Secretariat.

“Yellow Line Update. Delay in services between Kashmere Gate and Central Secretariat. Normal service on all other lines,” DMRC informed via a tweet.

Several people are stranded as services are disrupted on Delhi Metro Yellow Line. A Twitter user wrote, “Services are severely affected at all the stations of Yellow line.”

“Don’t call it a delay when the service has stopped altogether. No metro is going towards Huda City Centre from Kashmere Gate. People are being asked to take the violet line,” another user wrote.

In another tweet, DMRC said that all efforts are being made to restore normal services , and advised commuters to use the Violet Line

“Commuters traveling between Kashmere Gate and Central Secretariat can also use the Violet Line. All efforts are being made to restore normal services on the impacted portion in Yellow Line,” read the tweet from DMRC.

Yellow Line connects Samyapur Badli in Delhi to HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon.

Mumbai Metro technical snag

On Wednesday, Mumbai Metro services on the Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova corridor were disrupted for around 45 minutes due to a technical glitch in a train, said the operator of the rapid transit system.

Commuters faced inconvenience as the disruption of services during evening rush hours led to chaos and overcrowding at several metro stations.

This was the second such disruption on the Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova corridor in less than 10 days. Earlier on April 18, metro services were affected due to a technical issue.

Mumbai Metro One, which operates the rapid transit system, said services were affected due to a technical fault in the electrical converter unit of a train.
