Tech Mahindra, a leading IT company, has taken a strategic step in the AI realm, training 8,000 of its employees in artificial intelligence. The move comes as the company prepares to meet the demand for generative AI and quantum computing solutions.

Harshvendra Soin, the Global Chief People Officer and Head of Marketing at Tech Mahindra, revealed the company’s focus on key sectors and geographies, highlighting the significance of AI in driving growth.

FOCUS ON BFSI, HEALTHCARE, MANUFACTURING, AND RETAIL

As part of its strategic vision, Tech Mahindra is directing its efforts towards the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance), healthcare, manufacturing, and retail sectors, particularly in the USA.

This heightened focus necessitates investments in quantum computing, cybersecurity, and AI to provide innovative solutions and services in the market.

CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

While Tech Mahindra’s focus on AI and emerging technologies is promising, the company faced challenges in the June quarter, experiencing a 38% fall in net profit compared to the previous year.

The impact of reverses in its Communications, Media, and Entertainment (CME) segment contributed to these challenges. However, the outgoing CEO and MD, CP Gurnani, expressed optimism about the future, identifying generative AI, quantum computing, and cybersecurity as key drivers for growth.
