The update came to light during the Citi Global Technology Conference in September when Intel CFO and Executive Vice President David Zinsner discussed a major Windows overhaul in the upcoming year, according to The Verge.

First spotted by PC Gamer, the official suggested that users might end up upgrading their PCs due to the new release. He added that 2024 will be a good year due to the Windows refresh.

“We actually think 2024 is going to be a pretty good year for clients, in particular, because of the Windows refresh. We still think that the install base is pretty old, and does require a refresh and we think next year may be the start of that given the Windows catalyst,” said Zinsner at the Citi conference, according to the report.

The company is readying its Meteor Lake platform for next-gen Windows, which Microsoft could name Windows 12. The company has announced its Meteor Lake chips with an AI coprocessor. These will debut in December this year. The addition of the AI coprocessor could be a much-needed addition due to Microsoft’s AI push.

However, readers must note that Intel has not explicitly mentioned a new version of Windows, such as Windows 12 during the talks. Plus, the Redmond-headquartered tech giant has also not revealed any official details about the launch.
