Physics Wallah aims to focus on AI and ML to boost student performance, accessibility

There has been a growing demand for integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the educational landscape in India, fundamentally transforming traditional teaching methods and delivering a multitude of advantages to both students and educators. Educational platforms driven by AI now possess the capability to analyse the learning patterns of students, tailoring content to align with their unique requirements and learning pace, Devesh Mishra, chief technology officer, Physics Wallah, told FE Education. “AI furnishes educators with immediate insights, allowing them to swiftly adjust their instructional approaches. Indian educational institutions which have integrated AI-powered feedback systems have witnessed a notable 20% enhancement in student academic performance,” he said.

AI has the potential to decrease the administrative burden on educators in India by as much as 45%, leading to enhanced overall productivity and job satisfaction among them, according to a NASSCOM report. Approximately 2.2% of the Indian population experienceone or more disabilities, as reported by the National Statistical Office. “The importance of AI-powered accessibility solutions cannot be overstated. These solutions play a pivotal role in guaranteeing equal access to education for everyone,” Mishra said.

Machine Learning (ML), a subset of AI, is believed to be revolutionising the dissemination of educational materials in India. Through the utilisation of data and predictive algorithms, ML is enhancing the flexibility, engagement and efficiency of education.
